Small Animals
A rabbit’s teeth grow 10 to 12 cm a year and the only thing keeping them in check is grinding long-fibre forage. Almost everything that goes wrong with a rabbit traces back to that sentence.

What we stock
Timothy or orchard for adults, alfalfa only for the under-sixes and pregnant does. At least 80% of intake by volume.
A supplement, not a meal — a tablespoon or two per kilogram of body weight a day.
Kiln-dried wood. Customers ask; we checked.
Untreated willow and apple wood rather than anything with added sugar.

Buying guide
Selective eating first — pellets and soft greens enthusiastically, hay untouched. Then damp fur under the chin or on the front paws. Then smaller, drier droppings. Then a watery or crusty eye, because overgrown upper molar roots press on the tear duct.
If the hay rack is still full on Friday and you filled it on Monday, book the appointment. Do not wait for the rabbit to stop eating — by then the spurs have been growing for months.
Freshness matters more than owners expect. We turn hay stock over roughly every three weeks at both shops for exactly this reason.
Eleni does Wednesday consultations at Exarchia by appointment. Petros runs the small-animal range at Cholargos.
