Transition over seven to ten days: a quarter new food for three days, half for three days, three quarters for two days, then all of it. Faster than that is the single most common cause of the diarrhoea that gets blamed on the new bag.
Judge the result at six weeks, not six days. Coat condition, stool consistency and energy are the signals worth watching; the first fortnight tells you almost nothing.
