Cats

Radiator beds, window perches, and towers that hold an adult cat.

Height, warmth and a view of the door. Get those three and the expensive bed stops being ignored in favour of a cardboard box.

Buying guide

Why the cat prefers the box.

A box has walls on four sides, a single entry, and it is small enough to warm up. Most cat beds fail on at least two of those. When you are choosing, think enclosure rather than cushioning.

Place beds high and near a wall rather than in the middle of a room. A cat that can see the whole room without being in it will use the bed.

Ask before you buy — that is what the counter is for.
